The super-Jupiter orbits Epsilon Indi A, an "orange dwarf" star that is approximately 3.5 billion years old and slightly cooler than our Sun. Unlike the bright, hot stars that astronomers typically study, Epsilon Indi A offers a unique perspective due to its lower temperature. Matthews pointed out that this star is "so much colder than all the planets that we've been able to image in the past," making this discovery even more significant.
